We are pleased to announce that Dr Altermatt will be practicing at the Centre on Tuesday morning and all day Wednesday commencing August 19th.  Many people will know Jenny from when she has filled in for Paulo and from the Park Orchards Clinic.

We welcome Jenny to the Centre. She has extensive experience in general practice, including women's health, and knowledge of herbal medicine and acupuncture. She has practised as an integrative doctor for some years.  Her interests are yoga, meditation, skiing, kayaking, hiking, and now gardening and living as sustainably as possible. Jenny is an ex Australian Alpine Ski team member and was fortunate to participate in the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid in 1980.  We know she will be an enthusiastic and great help for Dr. Paolo.

HEALING and the BREATH  A Buteyko Based Course

For asthma, snoring, sleep apnoea and many illnesses where dysfunctional breathing is a causative factor.

John Wilson Qualified Buteyko Breathing Method Practitioner will facilitate the complete course and discuss the importance of nose and diaphragm breathing and the negative impact that “over breathing” has on our health. The course will change the way you breath for life.

Forming the Platonic Solids out of Coloured Paper 

In preparation for the clay modelling at a later date, with poetic interpretations given by Katherine Rudolph as an inspiration for your own writing.  

Sunday Workshop in the Garden Room for those interested from 2 - 7 pm. on 10 August,  Cost : 30.00  Supplies included plus ' Tea' at 4pm.

CHILDHOOD ILLNESS AND TREATING YOUR CHILD IN THE HOME

Want to know how to deal with colds and flu’s and ear infections over winter?

Our much anticipated annual lecture and demonstration on how to care for your child during the winter period.

Lecture by Dr Paulo Moraes  Dr Paulo will discuss ways to deal with fever, ear -ache and colds. How to support our children during their illness and re-establishing their natural equilibrium.

Demonstration by Jan Rayson- Anthroposophic Nurse (Holistic Nurse)  Jan will demonstrate tried and tested practical methods such as compresses, footbaths and basic first aid in the home to facilitate recovery.

The Centre's Garden Room

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

This group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday morning in the Garden Room. It is a place for those who have cancer or who have been touched by cancer to meet in a supportive atmosphere.  Various activities are arranged, such as painting, mediation, and journaling.  If you would like to be part of this group please contact Michelle Nichols.

MEDITATION with Bob Sharples

LUNCH TIME MEDITATION GROUP 12 noon to 1.00 pm

EVERY 2ND THURSDAY  - Thursday 17th July

DONATION: $10.00 (to M. T. C. Building Fund)

SUITABLE for people just starting out and experienced meditators.

The core practice will be mindfulness with some excursions into Imagery-based and loving-kindness meditations.

ART THERAPY FOR ANXIOUS CHILDREN

6 week program Saturday mornings

Group session times 9.00am - 10.15am or 10.45am - 12.00pm  Limit of 3 participants per class; children grouped according to age.

Cost $180 per 6 week block

 

These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for your child to express themselves through art and play.  Healing stories, art and play therapy are creatively formatted to gently mirror your child’s concerns as they arise, helping them to find solutions and develop the inner resources to deal with their fears and anxieties.

COLOUR

This value for money course, will interest those who wish to deepen their knowledge of colour, either for personal nourishment or to add to their field of work.

 

The course offers 3 blocks of study over 3 terms and began in 2nd term 2008.

Term 2: studied COLOUR, THE SOULS FABRIC, offers a deep exploration of colour including the basics of Goethe’s and Steiner’s theories of Colour.

Term 3: COLOUR ENHANCEMENT, explores ways of enhancing colour to create major and minor experiences; incl. planetary and seasonal moods.

Term 4: COLOUR, FORM AND GESTURE explores soul moods and gestures through colour; incl. finding your own healing gestures, forms and colours.

Comprises eight 3hr weekly sessions each term.  A certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of each term.

 

Cost $240 per term.  All materials provided.  Monday mornings.

We will be having more working bees during the year. The last one was on Saturday 19th July and you can see the results of several of the volunteers work.  Please come along when you can, you are more than welcome.  You are welcome also to do some work when we are not having a working bee.
