The Melbourne Therapy Centre, founded in 1986, is a medical and therapeutic Centre for integration for complementary medicine and therapies that promote healing of the body, mind and soul. It is committed to integrative Anthroposophic Medicine and Therapies. These modalities encompass the treatment of illnesses by using the wholistic approach of health care that understands healing to involve the physical and mental health of the individual and also preventative health care strategies.

Therapies are based upon the Anthroposophic medicine model proposed by Rudolf Steiner (Ph.D. 1861-1925) and pioneered by Dr. Ita Wegman (Dutch Physician 1876 – 1943) in Switzerland.  There are also other therapies available, such as osteopathy and acupuncture, that are not anthroposophically based but reflect the aims of the Centre. You can see who works at the Centre by visiting the Therapists page.

The Centre’s medical practitioner integrate complementary medicine with conventional medical practice.

Health

Illness is seen as a disturbance of the harmony between the body and inner life.  Healing involves working with the Art and Science of Healing as an intuitive guide to support the patient's participation in making lifestyle changes to promote a healthy physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Our Therapies

Immune functions are intimately connected to an individual response to external stressors and hence specific therapies can be prescribed to support the whole person in strengthening and revitalising immunity.

The team work of the doctor, wholistic medical practitioner, health consultant, nurses, therapists and supporting staff, regulates the individually designed therapeutic programs, creates an environment of human warmth and support, conducive to recovery and healing.

Our complementary therapies promote healing and self-development, transforming diseases into opportunities for personal growth. Clients may be referred by our practitioners or from their primary care practitioners or arrange appointments themselves by calling the Centre. Appointments are essential.
